Thank you for allowing me to testify today on this bill. One thing I wanted to add, this bill ought to have bipartisan support: For Republicans, this bill is about protecting a free market, increasing competition, eliminating government protectionism for incumbent businesses, "choosing winners and losers" with the force of government. But Democrats should take note of this bill too: The study cited by the sponsor (https://www.justice.gov/atr/economic-effects-state-bans-direct-manufacturer-sales-car-buyers) was done by the Department of Justice, Anti-Trust Division during the Obama administration, in 2009. In 2014, under the same administration, the Federal Trade Commission was still promoting the idea that these protectionist laws be repealed, for example t https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/news/press-releases/2014/05/ftc-staff-missouri-new-jersey-should-repeal-their-prohibitions-direct-consumer-auto-sales. Democrats understand that the current system creates an oligopoly that raises prices and reduces choice for consumers. So, if you're a Democrat or a Republican, you should support this bill. Thank you.
