I oppose this bill because it reduces transparency or public accountability and does not meaningfully improve outcomes for New Hampshire residents.

Hi my name is Robin Parker and I own a family owned hardware store Canaan Hardware & Supply in Canaan NH. Back in 2018 a local store that was selling Fish & Game Registrations and Licenses closed their doors. The owners reached out to me about taking over selling registrations because it was really needed in our community. I have always tried to support my community as much as I can so this was an easy decision to make. I went to the class and purchased the insurance the Fish and Game required. When it came time for billing I immediately was concerned. The Fish and Game sends out their statements on the 3rd of the month and if I don't pay by the 14th I get a hefty fee. Each year I get one freebie which is nice but they don't send a statement or send an email informing me that my statement is ready. They just add it to their site with a message on their site that its ready. I called them and found out that the rule states that it is up to the discretion of the Head of Fish and Game weather there should be a fee or not. I reached out to her and after confirming I paid the fee she told me that if I didn't have time to check the site and pay the bill then maybe I should stop doing registrations. That's a great idea from a business sense but I run my business in a way that priorities the needs of the community and I don't want to let my community down. I also asked if there was an automatic payment option because I was happy to send over the payments each month automatically like I do with a lot of other bills but at this time that is not an option. I am happy to pay my bill but the timeline is so tight that I lose track of time and forget to check their site. I personally do not do the registrations and my staff does their best to remind me but they sometimes miss the pop ups also. What frustrates me is the method of sending the bill, the amount of the fines and the fact I only have a few days to pay it. I am trying to help the Fish and Game and help the community but then getting hit with a fee if I miss the due date of the bill really upsets me. I would appreciate having till the end of the month or at least a 20 day window to pay the bill. If the Fish and Game could extend the due date it would at least give me a chance to pay on time and feel more confident in our working relationship. Thank You Robin Parker
