HB 1077 strengthens health and wellness education by including domestic violence prevention. Teaching students how to recognize unhealthy relationships and understand respect and boundaries is a matter of safety, not politics. Early education helps prevent harm, supports student well-being, and strengthens communities. HB 1077 is a responsible, preventative measure and should be supported.

State legislators are not educators. The current national standards for Social Studies is the research-based standards that all K-12 students should engage in as part of their education. I am a national expert in Competency Education and can testify that these standards are rigorous and comprehensive and without bias , which, if now left to politicians of any party, would introduce content that is preferential to their point of view and make our students less prepared than students from other states.
