Allowing the Town Moderator to be elected for 3 years would match up with the town clerk. Would work well as long as the Town Clerk and the Moderator's terms were alternating. The moderators have a lot of training and RSAs to get familiar with and a 3rd year would be beneficial without having to run every two years. If the moderator is not doing a good job I would hope that other election officials would encourage that moderator to step down. The moderator has a very complicated position that you need to go through multiple elections to be able to grasp the responsibility.
