NHMS is speaking in opposition to HB1292 •We have concerns about administering drugs that have not been through a thorough testing and approval process. This bill removes requirements that a drug has completed phase one of a clinical trial. Phase-one is the first time a new drug or treatment is limited testing in humans, focusing on safety, side effects, and finding the best dosage in order to learn how the body handles the treatment. This is a small scale closely monitored process that ensures patient safety. • We have concerns about widening the scope of eligibility drugs that have not been through the testing and approval process. Right to try legislation currently limits eligibility to patients with terminal illnesses and we oppose expanding access. • We believe that experimental and untested treatments have the potential to cause serious and irreversible patient harm, causing patients to invest both time and money in unproven and ineffective treatments, and delay referrals to effective medical care. This will have significant cost both financially and to patient health. We urge the committee to vote ITL on HB1292.

HB 1292 is a perfect follow-up to the advancements made in "right to try" law in the past year. Now, as New Hampshire prepares to be a leader in the work of saving lives, it is crucial to ensure that this work is carried on in an ethical manner that does not take human life in the process of saving it. Such a hypocrisy would undermine the human flourishing that citizens of the Granite State need and want. Please support HB1292 today, in its proposed format, in order to prevent the dangerous and unjust use of aborted infants body parts in medical research. Evidence shows that stem cell research is possible and effective without the use of fetal tissues. The decision a pregnant women is about to make "is" a life-or-death decision for her baby. It is only right, that she knows there are alternatives available, and that to make a decision to abort this baby, does not end with the taking of a life but will stay with this women physically and emotionally for the rest of her life. The "lie" is when the doctor says it will be over with and she can go on with her life as if it never happened!
I support right to try but oppose using aborted fetal tissue as an option. There are many options available including light therapy and energy therapy
Good morning. It has come to my attention that there is a bill being considered to allow or deny the harvesting of tissue from aborted fetuses for medical research. I do not understand how an issue like this even needs to be discussed. I realize that not everyone feels the same about abortion, but in my opinion to use discarded human beings for research and profit is just wrong. I approve of this bill because it prohibits the use of stems cells derived from abortion.

Dear Members Of The House Judiciary Committee, There is a line within this conflict between , human decency and uncivilized behavior. Those who profit from the depraved marketing program that has a narrative to kill babies in the womb so they can market body parts have a vested interest in this demonic activity. Is this what our Founders intended for posterity when they fought with their lives, fortunes and sacred honors for freedom. There must be a moral boundary to prevent this evil behavior in the State of NH. I’m asking this bill be approved to ensure NH is kept a safe place for every life.
I urge you to mark this bill as OTP. This bill does not slow down medical advancements, but does put boundaries up to protect what's left of our morals, as citizens of New Hampshire, from jumping onto a runaway train. If we fail to put protections in place with this bill, we are encouraging more industry to be built up around the bodies of babies who were just too inconvenient to be protected.

1st amendment grounds of separation of church and state require that no citizen be required to fund or otherwise participate in activities violating religious precepts. Using fetal material from abortions is another cottage industry of death. Therefore, please prohibit the use of stem cells derived from aborted fetal cells and expand life saving stem cell treatment options that do not use abortion.

Modeled precisely after a working Florida law, the bill lays out specific sectoral protections for regenerative stem cell usage. I really wish people like Erica would stop trying to criminalized healthcare, this is a step backwards, not a step forward for New Hampshire. Everything Florida does should be a warning to us. Please support HB1292. Doctors should have freedom and authority to give treatments that are best for their patients. It should go without saying that using stem cells from aborted babies (yes they are babies) is immoral and should never be used.
