Yes please give people an incentive to inspect their vehicles by requiring discounts
I'm perfectly capable of inspecting my own vehicle. Especially on the low hanging fruit items listed in this RSA. Why should i not get the same discounts? I realize the no inspection thing may be new for those who haven't lived all over the country, but it is no big deal. Leave it alone. ITL please.
HB 1353 is type of legislation the NH public wants to see from our elected representatives. Voluntary and incentivized programs are always preferred by the public and more successful in achieving their desired outcomes. HB1560 will have been discussed one day ahead of this hearing in Transportation Committee which seeks to reinstall mandatory inspections. My self and 73 others, as of the date I'm writing this, have submitted testimony in opposition of that bill. HB1353 on the other hand is logical, fair, and implementable in a way that would actually result is positive change. Regulating unsafe vehicles off the roads with inspections just doesn't work. Those irresponsible owners are already out there driving without stickers every day. Nothing changes by removing mandatory inspections that they already ignore. However, if safety is the real concern, allowing people to save money will certainly incentivize them to consider making their vehicle safer. Respectfully, Terry Hyland Jr
