Nancy JerauldSupportLitchfield, NHfor MyselfJan 27, 2026

Application fees can add up quickly, placing unnecessary financial strain on someone seeking a home.

Vote ITL because: ~It is very doubtful that this is even a predominant issue. ~After a short period a new application can be totally justified. ~Screening application is time consuming and bares real costs, not covering costs will raise rents for everyone ~to charge a $1000 penalty or worse a $1000/day is absurd

I support this bill to protect tenant rights.

It is hard to comment on such a bizarre and negative proposal. It is anti family anti nature anti individual rights to get out and enjoy all NH has to offer. Must have been proposd from someone "downstate" in a city.

Collecting an application fee more than once a year from a tenant seems abusive. I own my home, but when I attend public meetings all I hear is horror stories from people who rent in our state. The housing market is so tight, renters need some relief from predatory landlords. Please pass this bill.

I support this bill as it prohibits landlords from collecting more than one application fee from the same prospective tenant within a 12-month period.

This is immigration policy hidden in housing. In no way to Landlords need to know someone's legal status and lying should not be considered a class B felony, when being undocumented at a federal level is not even a felony. The punishment does not fit the crime, therefore I oppose this bill
