Allowing people to choose their source of energy is the best method from a democratic perspective, for freedom of choice, and as part of a free market system. Why in the Live Free or Die state would we not allow people to make their own choices when there is no harm to others? Please vote No on HB1475. Thank you.
Please do something to stem delivery and usage costs
As written, this bill is very dangerous as it would allow the distribution cost to be the same for all users regardless of energy use since all existing infrastructure is a fixed cost which arguably is necessary for all users. It might actually become cheaper for homeowners to use portable generators with associated pollution and fire risk. The legislature should instead direct a fairer policy of all distribution costs to be usage based except for the costs of meters and billing.
