I want a public accounting of the human impact of the misguided (because there is no evidence that medicaid cuts and work requirements do anything behaviorally but harm health) and fiscally irresponsible (this costs taxpayers and the insured more in the end) and mean spirited policy changes.

Make information available to all NH residents.

This bill would help ensure that our Granite Staters have the transparency they need to make informed decisions regarding healthcare in NH. Adequate decisions can not be made unless the Health and Human Resources Commissioner prepares and publishes a report that would detail the number of Granite Staters whose health care coverage will be impacted when the recently enacted Federal and State changes go into effect. This report should also detail the effects on hospitals, health centers and area agencies, including closures of facilities and/or reduction in services. This report should include the impact nonlocal and state budgets. In the interest of transparency, this bill should be passed. Thank you for your consideration. Melanie Leathers Bradford

I think this bill is important. If we want to plan ahead, we need to understand the impact Medicare changes will cause.

I support this bill because I think NH citizens need to know how the changes to Medicaid will affect us.

The judgement of the medical provider should preempt insurance companies and government staff.

I am now retired, but worked my entire adult life in health care as a pharmacist; mostly in hospitals, plus four years consulting in nursing homes. I have rounded with physicians in Intensive Care Units, and Coronary Care Units. I reviewed antibiotic therapy, and patients receiving total parenteral nutrition. I could not support this bill with greater ernest and clarity. I have no place to put the understanding that a State or a country would not do everything in its power to insure the people living therein did not have access to good, affordable, effective healthcare, before and after being admitted to a hospital. We are a strange country indeed. In the 1883, German Chancellor Otto von Bismarck—representing the German Empire introduced the world's first national social health insurance system in 1883. We are only 142 years behind. Make no mistake, and it is not hyperbole to say so, the cuts to Medicaid, affordable access to vaccines (in the State of NH), and any access to healthcare will and does result in more deaths and greater disability. And please, do not ask me to get started on the bizarre things coming out of the current federal administration's HHS and FDA. Acetaminophen during pregnancy causes autism? Bat-poop crazy. The defunding of mRNA vaccine research --the COVID vaccine is an mRNA vaccine. It saved hundreds of thousands of lives, possibly more, and could have saved even more lives had politics not interfered with medical science. People, including many children, are already getting sick, and some dying, due to the anti-vaccine rhetoric. Measles is resurging. Just wait until polio resurges and takes your grandchild's ability to walk. Even as a child in grammar school I could not wait to get the, what was then, new polio vaccine. I had a neighor who walked in braces. I did not want to share his fate. If only adults could think as clearly. And what happens when smallpox resurges, or Ebola gets out of Africa? Please THINK!!!

Knowledge is power. I strongly urge you to support HB 1794 which would direct DHHS to examine the impact of federal Medicaid cuts on NH resident's access to health care services. This Bill creates a directive to the department of health and human services to identify the impact of Medicaid changes on New Hampshire residents' access to health care. This information is badly needed.

Requiring this report is prudent and good governance. Impact studies are necessary and right part of governance and from southern border to northern border we all should know exactly that the consequences are This report is a powerful step to support efforts to ensure that Granite Staters receive comprehensive and appropriate health care. I support to the law to require our HHS commissioner prepare a report detailing the number of Granite Staters whose health care coverage will be impacted when the recently enacted federal and state changes go into effect; the effect of recently enacted changes on non-profit health care organizations, including hospitals, community health centers, community mental health centers, and area agencies, including reductions in services and closures of facilities; the impact on timely access to care for Granite Staters, including state and municipal budget impacts.

Many NH residents may lose their health care. We need to know the impact.

Hiding our head in the sand is not a strategy for assessing the impact of cuts to the Medicaid program. Cuts do not only hurt the working poor (those who work full time, but still can't afford to feed, cloth, house and take care of the medical needs of their families) the impact is felt throughout the health care system.

I state my opinion for this bill for the sake of residents in NH.

Changes to Medicaid put Granite Staters at risk. The Legislature must act to measure the impact if it wants to continue to make sound health policy.

Healthcare should be our number one concern. We all need access to proper care.

There is no benefit to New Hampshire if access to health care is limited to anyone, anywhere.

It’s important to know how changes to Medicare will effect access to heal care for New Hampshire residents. Please support this bill.

Cuts to Medicaid will have a huge impact on our state, including some of our most vulnerable residents. If we want a healthy state, there needs to be unconditional access to comprehensive healthcare. Understanding the impact of these changes to Medicaid highlights the devastation they cause and gives a foundation to advocate to bring back Medicaid to its previous form and build on that.

I believe it is important to discover and record the impact of limiting health care options for those on Medicaid. I believe it is a mistake to make health care harder to access and will lead to greater costs and negative impacts on hospitals and clinics. Reporting on the impacts will allow citizens to see the results and keep them out of the shadows.
