I support HB 1801 because it makes straightforward, common-sense corrections to current law. The bill restores due process in wrongful detention and forfeiture cases, protects innocent property owners, and adds accountability where officers knowingly provide false written information. I urge the committee to support HB 1801.
If someone was fired from law enforcement FOR CAUSE that really dos call into question their ability to uphold the law in future. And yeah falsifying reports should be recognized as an issue.
