I am a school board member. This bill does not solve the funding the problem. It still increases property taxes and inequity and just isn’t enough. We need to restructure HOW we fund education.

25 submissionsI oppose HB 1826. While it claims to address the cost of an adequate education, it still fails to fully meet the state’s constitutional responsibility and continues the long-standing practice of downshifting education costs onto local property taxpayers. Without a reliable, sustainable state funding source, this bill does not fix the problem—it reinforces it.
You cannot definite an "adequate" education & Cherish does not equal a mandate.
This bill is inadequate in funding our schools. The courts have decided the adequate funding amount and should be financed at that level
It is time for fair and equitable funding of education in our state
This level of increase to education funding is inadequate.
