We have to control EFA growth.

Please vote in favor of HB1834. Capping Education Freedom Accounts is long overdue and will slow unchecked growth, save taxpayer dollars, protect public school funding, and reduce further cost-shifting onto local property taxpayers. Thank you.

I am against vouchers period. At the very least there needs to be a cap. Rich people don’t need assistance to send their kids to private schools

Helena RozierSupportPeterborough, NHfor MyselfJan 21, 2026

I support this bill.

I support this bill.

Any bill that can slow the growth of these EFAs is a good bill!

Christie Shaw-DoranSupportFranconia, NHfor MyselfJan 21, 2026

No tax money to fund this please

Kathleen BeanSupportDurham, NHfor MyselfJan 21, 2026

EFA's are have no oversight, are handed out to the detriment of public schools.

Sally FindleySupportGrantham, NHfor MyselfJan 21, 2026

I do not believe that the EFA has the standards and accomplishments worthy of expansion, and opposed to further inroads these EFA make into the state's resources to support education for all NH children.

Andrew SladeSupportChester, NHfor MyselfJan 21, 2026

Taxpayer money should not be spent funding private schools.

Catherine Robertson-SouterSupportSeabrook, NHfor MyselfJan 21, 2026

The EFA is getting out of control, way more money being taken out of the system by rich families than was ever predicted. Reign this in!

Sarah OxnardSupportExeter, NHfor MyselfJan 21, 2026

Educational Freedom accounts are out of control and blowing through the fund which is supposed to support special ed and construction projects in the public school, requiring towns to increase their property taxes. This bill which limits the amount of money spent on EFA:'s is good for NH.

Gregory DavisSupportSalem, NHfor MyselfJan 21, 2026

The EFA pgm is intended to dismantle NH public education. Slowing it down is a small positive step.

Sarah YoungSupportHanover, NHfor MyselfJan 21, 2026

We need this cap as money is draining from the public school funds.

Ann RettewSupportConcord, NHfor MyselfJan 21, 2026

This does not belong in the public schools. This is a family matter.

Katie DeAngelisSupportNottingham, NHfor MyselfJan 21, 2026

We need guard rails on EFA. We've seen that by FAR the majority of families taking advantage of the EFAs are families that didn't have children in public schools in the first place. We are subsidizing families that can already afford to have their children in private schools. This is NEW spending that had not been accounted for. Our Education Trust Fund cannot support this AND maintain adequate levels of funding for our public schools.

Annette Trial ONeilSupportNottingham, NHfor MyselfJan 21, 2026

We need guardrails on the EFA's. They are taking resources away from public education and community schools.

Patricia WhitneySupportDover, NHfor MyselfJan 21, 2026

A limit on EFAs is absolutely warranted. I oppose universal distribution and it should be based on economic need. I live near a private school and the number of luxury vehicles that drive out of it and down our road is something to behold.

Maura AdamsSupportDeerfield, NHfor MyselfJan 21, 2026

Education Freedom Accounts are fiscally and morally problematic. Limiting the number offered through 2027 is an important safeguard to keep them from causing further harm to our public schools and using tax dollars without sufficient accountability.

Sandra E CannonSupportAtkinson, NHfor MyselfJan 21, 2026

We need to control how many students participate in EFA accounts because they are already way over budget for this year.

wendy larsonSupportKensington, NHfor MyselfJan 21, 2026

As a School Board member in Kensington I see the need to take a much closer look at the EFAs. The majority of kiddos in NH attend public schools. EFAs are taking needed funds from our public schools. More and more citizens are getting wise to EFAs and not liking that their tax dollars are mainly going to private schools with only a small percentage of those using EFAs going to lower income households. Time to slow this program down. Respectfully, Wendy Larson

Susan MayerSupportLee, NHfor MyselfJan 21, 2026

I strongly support limiting the number of so-called education freedom accounts as I oppose the program in general. This program is already over-budget and is a huge waste of public money. This unfair, inequitable, and fiscally irresponsible.program forces all taxpayers to pay for private school tuition for some (too many!) and is raiding public school funding already. I'd rather this unsustainable program be eliminated altogether but limiting it is a good start.

Trisha TiddSupportKingston, NHfor MyselfJan 21, 2026

Educational freedom accounts is MUCH too expensive as a program and needs to be limited!

Martha Jane RichSupportEnfield, NHfor MyselfJan 21, 2026

It's past time to cap enrollment in the education freedom account program. The costs of this program have consistently exceeded the projected amount, draining funds from public education and adding to the burden on local property tax payers. Please get EFAs under control now.
