No school does this! What a waste of time this bill is. Fix the real problems in this state.

As a physician in the state, this is not an actual issue of concern. Parental consent is required for medical treatment of a minor and schools would notify parents/guardians of any anticipated transport of a student off school property. If this was misconstrued, it could lead to restricting emergent transport of a student to a medical facility (ie: ambulance transport in the event of an anaphylactic reaction or significant injury) - I oppose this bill.

This bill is dictating how specific people can use their private vehicles and is a serious government overreach. It doesn't state that this only applies during work hours or when school is in session. This bill would bar school district employees from transporting anyone under 18 to any medical appointment, even on their free time, and even when those appointments are otherwise lawful and/or made by the minor's parents. If a parent makes a minor a health appointment (and the minor is lawfully allowed to attend on their own), and their transportation to that appointment falls through, this minor would not be allowed to access transportation from a trusted neighbor, friend, or relative, who happens to work in the school district. Further, there are circumstances in which minors can consent to their own treatment. This law aims at eliminating a safe transportation option in those circumstances and increases the risk to minors by making them seek alternative, and perhaps less safe, modes of transportation to their health/medical appointments. It also bars these employees from "accompanying such minor during transport." This could include riding in a car driven by someone else who is bringing a minor to an appointment, even if the school district employee has no knowledge that the minor is going to a medical appointment. This is scary overreach and is a slippery slope for our "Live Free or Die" state.

This is a totally ridiculous bill and a waste of legislative time that could be spent on more important issues. Do the sponsors of this bill really think school personnel are busing children to a medical appointments.? This bill feels and sounds a lot like the crazy belief of kids receiving gender reassignments by going to school. Stop with the damn dog whistles. OPPOSE this bill.

HB231 is extremely necessary. In my twelve years in the New Hampshire public school system, I have not once heard about a teacher bringing a student to a medical appointment without the approval of the student's parent or guardian. HB231 is based upon nothing but fear mongering. That has no place in politics.

This is a dumb bill. This has NEVER happened - not in New Hampshire, not anywhere. Why are we wasting time on this?

A complete and total waste of time. Paranoia isn't necessary. Common sense works fine here, thanks. No need for unnecessary litigation with the potential of unintended consequences.

This is just another bill to scare parents as if teachers are constantly taking their students to see medical professionals. It's fear mongering and completely unnecessary.

This is more posturing by the anti-trans crowd. This is not a thing that happens, and they're proposing this bill to incrementally encroach on the rights of trans people in this state.

Parental consent is already required for medical procedures. It could cause unnecessary delays in treatment.

The only fix to the unconstitutional banned concepts law is to repeal it.
