This can be taken to ridiculous extremes. Waste of admin time. One overall tax implication is sufficient.

Transparency is critically important, however, I feel this and similar bills are actually intended to be used as a scare tactic to sway uninformed voters, particularly around school board budgets. Understanding the estimated costs is important but it requires context. More than likely, this bill will trigger no votes across all warrants, resulting in nothing getting done because no voter wants to raise their taxes even one cent.

Granite State Taxpayers supports efforts and legislation to promote awareness of the financial impact on taxpayers of spending and taxing options, to institute and defend tax cap legislation, and promote better public awareness of the impacts of proposed projects and ballot choices. This bill requires a notation stating the estimated tax impact for any special warrant article with a multi-year tax impact in towns that have voted to require a notation stating the estimated tax impact of the annual budget and all special warrant articles. This provides better public awareness of the tax impact of proposed projects. Granite State Taxpayers recommends a vote FOR HB284 Ray Chadwick, Board Member

I only wish I could be in person in the hearing room to provide the testimony written below: Heck ya! I support cacr2 - full stop. Mic drop. (Though I would not drop the mic used in the hearing room =)

This is more work for the town administration prior to a town meeting, but would be a win for all on the transparency side and likely make a town meeting a bit smoother.
