As a retiree experiencing the effects of inflation I support this bill.

Retirees are being priced out of meeting our basic needs. Please pass this increase!

This small increase matters a lot in these days of price increases. And most of that money will go back into NH businesses!

As a retired State Employee for almost 25 years, an increase in the COLA would be much appreciated given the high cost of living these days. Thanks you.

I am a retired state employee. It has been a very long time since retirees were granted a real COLA, i.e,, one which became a permanent addition to the beneficiary's base retirement allowance. My cost of living has increased dramatically since I retired in 2008 but my state pension has remained pretty much the same, which makes it difficult to survive with ever-increasing costs for food, taxes, etc. I hope members of the Committee will support this bill. State retirees should get a yearly COLA and not have to live on a reduced buying power fixed income. They earned it. Let’s not turn our backs on them.

I support this bill and I ask you to do so as well. I am a retired state employee at 67 years of age and support a disabled family member as well. I gave my best as an employee and hope NH does everything it can to keep the employee retirement system up to date with cost of living.

Dear House Judiciary Committee members, I am opposed to bill HB476 that would further restrict abortion, reproductive healthcare, in New Hampshire. As you may know, 78% of New Hampshire citizens believe there should be a right to get an abortion, in every state of the U.S. Also, the great majority - I believe it is 68% - of us here in New Hampshire oppose a 15-week abortion ban. Therefore, your opposition to this bill would be representing the will of the people you represent. On a personal note, my niece was able to obtain an abortion after a rape that she would never have been able to prove, before Roe V. Wade was overturned. She went on to have to beautiful healthy boys. I believe all women and families should have that opportunity. Please oppose HB476 and support the health and welfare of New Hampshire families. Thank you for your service to the people of our State.

Retirees' pensions are based on wages earned. Over time, these wages lose purchasing power. Maintaining that purchasing power, or at least keeping it from dropping as quickly, is good for NH, as 80% of pension benefits stay in NH. The NHRS's benefits have a positive impact on the state's economy. For example, in 2020, every dollar of pension paid to a New Hampshire resident generated $1.70 in local economic output. This is good for New Hampshire and should pass.

Retired New Hampshire public service employees are long overdue cola increases. Inflation has and continues to wreck havoc with their budgets. From food, to fuel, medication and health care. Costs have skyrocketed. Retirees deserve to live out their lives with dignity and respect. Please, make this a funding priority. Thank you.

Elderly people are losing their homes. We don't need more homeless.
