I support bills that support our environment. We can not ignore our earth.

Please support this bill. It is way paste time for utilities to upgrade the electricity infrastructure. Advanced meters will help us meet current needs, fosters near-future innovations, and returns energy dollars to the New Hampshire economy. As a utility customer, I have been asking for these for a long time. Please don't make us wait any longer.

I support this bill because I think it's important for NH utility companies to adopt advanced meters that will allow for a more resilient, energy-independent power grid.

Integrates renewable energylies into the grid

I lived in the west of Ireland (Galway) from 1990 - 1994. Part way through that time, we were offered the option to install a time-of-use meter at the home we were renting. We took advantage of the offer and were able to achieve savings on our electric bill by shifting some of our use into lower-cost hours of the day. I find it amazing that we would have the option of using such a meter over 30 years ago in rural Ireland and yet it is described as an 'advanced meter' today in New Hampshire! Passing this bill should be an absolute 'no-brainer'.

Way back in 1993 we lived in Ireland and the Electric Company offered advanced (time of use) meters to homeowners FREE of charge and no installation fee! That was over 30 years ago. New Hampshire must catch up with the technology that has been available for many years. The reason is advanced meters seriously help all year but especially during times of very high demand. People will change their habits to save money!

As a mother I feel strongly that decisions related to pregnancy are personal between a women and her partner and her doctor. Not every pregnancy goes as hoped for or when the woman is ready. It is presumptuous for anyone else to think they know the right answers to difficult questions without knowing the circumstances involved. Voters are not looking for politicians to help them make difficult choices for them or treat women as 2nd class citizens.

I support this bill which requires electric distribution utilities which have not yet implemented interval and advanced metering functionality, to develop a plan to make such metering available to customers. This will be very helpful because energy consumption data is collected at regular intervals (like hourly or 15-minute periods) and automatically transmitted back to the utility company, allowing for better monitoring and analysis of customer energy usage patterns. Customers can access this detailed information to identify peak usage times and optimize consumption. Utilities can bill customers based on precise data. Importantly, utilities can implement demand response programs by sending signals to customers to reduce energy consumption during peak demand periods. All very helpful in controlling climate change and decreasing energy costs.

Please support this bill to require electic distribution utilities to develop a plan to make interval and advanced metering a reality.

Dear Science, Technology, and Energy Committee Members. I would like to express my support for HB 692 allowing utility companies adapting advanced metering provisions.. I strongly support this bill to help consumers with opt-in advanced metering.

It is long overdue and time for the PUC to develop a plan.

This legislation has the potential to save many NH ratepayers money. Also, NH is behind the times. My mother in law (from Virginia), my brother from New York, and my brother-in-law from Ohio were all shocked that we did not have a "smart meter."

Advanced meter technology is critical the economic future of NH asit will allow for better management of our energy grid.

I support this critical bill because it is essential to prevent the PUC from allowing the competitive energy marketplace to be undermined. Allowing utilities to breach the divide between Supply and Delivery charges would allow utilities to under-charge for energy in ways that the alternate energy suppliers cannot do. Allowing underbilling to be "socialized" by shifting Supply costs to Stranded Cost Recovery Charges would mean that those purchasing energy from alternate energy suppliers would be subsidizing those who purchase the utility default.
