This bill should be opposed. It's an excuse to do nothing. We need to move faster on issues pertaining to climate change. We've known for over 50 years that the world is facing problems with climate change and we have been ignoring facts to stay with the status quo, Let's get proactive.

I oppose this bill because it contains highly misleading and inaccurate statements.

I strongly oppose this bill whose purpose is to deny the reality of the climate crisis that everyone should be concerned about..

We need science-based policy, not ideology-driven irresponsibility. Text should include the high costs of climate pollution, damages to NH resources and property, adverse effects on health and nature. Talk to some of our local orchards. Two orchards in Concord lost their entire crop this year, and this is not the first time. It's costly and laber intensive to get apples from other orchards in the state so they can make some profit and feed their families. Same for Maple syrup collectors. Please oppose to help us protect our great state.

This is an unclear resolution with an amateurish ring. On the one hand, it sounds ambitious in focusing on “fully” considering information and “any” economy or environment. On the other hand, it is also modest in focusing just on “climate change” information when many other factors could have adverse effects. Certainly we hope that policymakers will consider relevant information before pursuing actions with adverse effects—that’s their job. What additional consideration this resolution calls for is hard to understand.

The evidence is in: human-caused Climate Change IS occurring. Ask Los Angeles, Maui, or Portsmouth which is losing its shoreline. We don't need more study, we need ACTION to mitigate the effects of Climate Change which are already showing up in NH.

I value life on earth, my health, and the economy, which is why I oppose this bill.

I adamantly oppose this bill. I consider my health, my family's health, and the health of all life on earthy my top priority. This bill fails to address the serious health consequences of burning fossil fuels. The pollution emitted when we burn oil and natural gas exacerbates asthma, increases our chances of developing respiratory diseases, and causes premature deaths. BUT that is NOT ALL that burning fossil fuels does. Scientists, including those hired by Exxon in 1977 to determine the negative effects of burning fossil fuels, have known for more than fifty years that climate change is human-caused. The toxic particulate matter that entered our atmosphere during the Los Angeles fires last month is not confined to California state borders. It can travel thousands of miles. The fires were a direct cause of climate change - the extreme, unprecedented drought conditions, the extreme heat, and hurricane-force winds, were all a result of climate change, which, as we know, is a result of burning fossil fuels. Americans are sickened and killed by events such as these unprecedented fires in California and massive flooding events that New Hampshire has experienced in recent years, to name just a few climate events. Not only are we putting our health and lives in jeopardy, we are also experiencing unprecedented economic costs as these powerful fires, storms, floods, droughts, heat waves, and arctic cold blasts (due to the jet stream no longer keeping arctic cold in the arctic where it belongs) rip through our country month after month. We must see through the dangerous rhetoric of this bill. Might it have been put forth with help from leaders in the fossil fuel industry who would like to keep us burning their product which is making us sicker, less productive and less prosperous? See through this bill and vote NO.

I believe climate change is happening and New Hampshire needs to take measures to combat it. This bill does not support taking these measures. It puts obstacles in the way.

This is titled in a way that misleads, the wording is extremist and alienating, anti-science. The Granite Geek wrote this about it: "An NH bill pretends climate change doesn’t exist because it’s too scary to face".

I hope every member on this committee realizes how important it is to do whatever you can to protect the environment of New Hampshire. I oppose this bill because it would do the opposite: it would block action on efforts to protect our waters, our land and our air from pollution of all sorts. If this bill causes environmental damage in your district it will be very hard to justify your vote to the people you were elected to serve. Please don't support this bill!

Distinguished Members of the Legislature: I appreciate the opportunity to testify on the proposed resolution concerning the consideration of relevant climate change information in legislation. While the resolution appears reasonable on the surface, careful examination of the “where as” section reveals several misleading assertions that merit clarification. Firstly the statement that “climate change is occurring and has occurred throughout all time” suggests an oversimplification of complex climate dynamics. While it is true that earths climate has experienced fluctuations the current warming trend is unique in both its rapid pace and predominant correlation with human activities (industrial revolution) as confirmed by the overwhelming majority of climate scientists. Recognizing this distinction is vital for informed policy making. Secondly, the assertion of a “documented pattern of suppressing some climate perspectives and data” often misconstrues the rigorous peer review process and scientific consensus building that underpins climate science. In science not all perspectives hold equal validity, peer reviewed process helps sift through and validate findings, ensuring that the data influencing our policies are accurate and reliable. Claims of suppression lack substantiation and distract from the importance of basing policy decisions on the best available science. Thirdly, while it is noted that “the many wrong climate predictions by the many activists requires caution”. We must remember that predicting and specifying the impact of climate change is inherently challenging. However this doesn’t discount the underlying trends. Climate science like other science, continually evaluates and refines its projections based on the best available data. As an aside, as a retired healthcare professional and Registered Republican; I find the apparent anti science stance of many in my party to be disheartening. This bill is misguided. While the consideration of high-quality PEER-REVIEWED climate research should absolutely be utilized for decision making where relevant, this bill makes many false assertions about the reliability of climate information and does not distinguish between reputable (PEER-REVIEWED & confirmed by multiple well-constructed studies) sources of information and those that are “fraudulent”.

This bill is misguided. It makes many poor assertions about climate change science and does not support good, peer reviewed science practices that I believe are important to the integrity of those who hold public office and are in charge of making change.

The Resolution topic is an important one, but the Resolution needs redrafting.

Outrageous ignorance!

This is an anti-science bill, that pushes the agenda of the climate change denying fossil fuel industry. It handicaps New Hampshire in dealing with the many harmful effects of climate change.

Whereas. . . the statements in the bill's "Whereas" section are not only prejudicial, they are fundamentally untrue and indicate extreme bias on the part of bill's creators. If this bill is passed, it is patently obvious how it will be applied against any future legislation to protect out planet.

I urge you to not allow this resolution to pass. This resolution attempts to define how decisions are made regarding complex issues. I believe the NH legislature and voters can best determine their decisions based upon relevant information collected at hearings on specific bills. They do not need to be told by any resolution how to think and what information they will use to make a decision. Vote against this resolution. Thank you.

This bill is filled with false information and information that has been thoroughly debunked by actual scientific measures. It leaves loopholes wide open for the serious degradation of all of our systems and safeguards surrounding climate resilience when our focus should realistically be on supporting every scientific method we have at our disposal to support alternative energy systems, greater systemic and environmental efficiency, and a commitment to weaning ourselves from the toxic results of overuse of fossil fuels. To sum up: I oppose this bill. And I vote. Every. Single. Election.

I oppose this bill as some of the language is misleading and incorrect. There is clear, documented evidence of human-caused climate change derived from fossil fuel pollution. To continue to ignore this reality is to accept huge losses in tourism as our winters become a thing of the past, and the quality of our lake water is compromised. We need to make decisions on policies based on science to ensure our state will grow in healthy, viable ways. Please oppose this misleading legislation. Ellen Farnum, Tamworth

This bill is written to pretend climate change doesn’t exist, however, it is very real and is a critical issue that will only get worse and become more costly the longer it is ignored. The NH legislature should focus on proactive actions that reduce climate change by instituting climate solutions.

This proposal is very sneaky. Please get the language cleaned up before you support it.
