It's disappointing that the contents of this bill must be explicitly stated and enacted, as it's patently obvious everyone has a right to clean air, water, and a clean environment to live in. Of course everyone has that right! Please pass this bill and show you are on board with this reality. Make it real by passing climate-friendly bills and denying bills that help the fossil fuel industry continue polluting. Thank you.

202 submissionsThese are natural rights that every citizen assumes, and our state should codify them so they can be enforced. Out-of-state polluter interests have proven willing to abuse citizens' property owner rights when there is a profit motive, negatively impacting the health and welfare of local citizens. Our state should protect its citizens' right to a healthy, nontoxic environment in which to live.
Please support an OTP recommendation on HR10. NH is struggling to address the ramifications of many years of lax and inadequate environmental regulations. Failure to codify public health and environmental protection policies and hold polluters accountable for the harm that has been done here to both people and planet, should have provided us the "wake-up!" call we needed. We see the costs associated with compromised health and negative health impacts for residents, as well as the financial burden we all share in trying to remediate damage done, and protect ourselves from future additional harm. Like citizens everywhere, NH residents should have a fundamental right to clean air, safe drinking water, and a healthy environment- a right that is non-negotiable. Without these most basic of rights, our rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are compromised. We are not going to get a second chance to save our earth, our natural resources, and ourselves. Please vote OTP on HR10. Thank you for your time. Kind regards, Rep. Nancy Murphy
I support New Hampshire recognizing the right of our citizens to have clean air, clean water, and a healthy environment. The natural beauty of the state is why many people, including me, chose to live and work in New Hampshire. I grew up with its forests and mountains, and that should be preserved for future generations. Additionally, it is a big part of our economy and we would be foolish not to do everything we can to protect the natural world that makes NH special. Also, the multiple recent PFAs controversies in our state should be a reminder that we need to do all we can to protect our air and water from contaminants related to corporations and industry. It threatens the health of our citizens and our ecosystems. Guaranteeing this right would send a strong message to potential polluters and also reaffirm the fact that all NH residents have a right to healthy air and water.
Bill needs to be altered to include real present-day threats.
how is this even a discussion? do y'all have any moral compass?
It seems ridiculous to me that this is even something that needs a vote. Our very lives depend on a clean environment. NH’s economy depends on it too - imagine the hit to our state without hiking, skiing, swimming, boating, fishing, hunting, and more. With huge cuts likely at the EPA at a federal level, we need to fight locally to protect our environment as much as we can.
The "right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" is impossible without a healthy environment. Clean air and clean water are essential to all life. A healthy environment, which supports all living things, is necessary in order for people to exist and to exercise their rights to live freely and to pursue their own happiness.
A bill potentially violating Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is not something anyone should be supporting.
Do right by the CITIZENS of NH. not billionaire lobbyists NH deserves to have a healthy, clean environment
I deserve clean water and air and lack of pollution. We all do. Unless we want a society sick with preventable disease, and especially with our healthcare in shambles, we must PREVENT more illness. I don't understand why this is even an issue...
Thank you for giving us some hope.
I support this bill because I believe in the right of individuals to have access to clean water, clean air, and a healthy environment.
Who doesn't want clean air and water?
This resolution acknowledges the fundamental right of individuals to have access to clean air, clean water, and a healthy environment, and that the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is inherently linked to the ability to enjoy a clean and healthy environment. Without health, individuals' capacity to fully exercise their other rights is significantly compromised. Can you argue with this? I hope not.
I hope this committee recognizes the truth of the fundamental right of individuals to have access to clean air, clean water, and a healthy environment, and that the right to life, liberty, and that the pursuit of happiness is inherently linked to the ability to enjoy a clean and healthy environment. Without health, individuals' capacity to fully exercise their other rights is significantly compromised. Please pass this bill, for all of our sakes.
Everyone deserves to have clean air, water, and a healthy environment
The right to health and a healthy environment sustains and enhances other rights . Support for this bill should be a no-brainer,
we all have a right to access clean water and air and land on which our food is grown.. Our right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness should include a clean unpolluted and healthy environment in which we can thrive!!!
The health of the citizens of New Hamshire and the health of the citizens of the world are intimately linked to the health of our environment. We all have the right to clean air, water, and land. Without these protections of our God-given rights, the cost of healthcare will rise enormously. There is evidence from our neighboring states that every $1.00 spent on clean energy investments will save $1.10 on health care and another $1.00 on other things such as less time in traffic, fewer severe storms, and improved tourism.
I support this resolution since it's a fundamental right of individuals to have access to clean air, clean water, and a healthy environment, and that the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is inherently linked to the ability to enjoy a clean and healthy environment. Without health, individuals' capacity to fully exercise their other rights is significantly compromised.

As creatures on this earth, we’re intrinsically linked to its well-being. If the earth is unwell, we are unwell.
Pie-in-the-sky polly anna magical thinking.
This is important for the future of all ages!
