It seems peculiar to me that the state is proposing to rename a frequently visited peak for Revolutionary War general Tadeusz Kosciuszko, who apparently never visited New Hampshire, while native generals Stark and Sullivan were never so honored. Now native Alan Shepard is being offered a seldom-visited, scrubby peak over a thousand feet lower. That doesn't seem right.
