I think it is a great idea to honor Mr Kosciuszko for the US' 250th birthday, and in doing so remind everyday Americans that patriotism sometimes involves sacrificing a "safe" life to help people in need. While I'd prefer an Abanaki name for the mountain, I personally think haystack doesn't do the mountain justice. And it might lead under-prepared tourists into a challenging hike.
