Please support this bill - primary needs to earlier - move date to June.

Changing the State election primary date to June allows for more time for candidates to inform voters of their positions and for voter research on candidates and party positions. Please vote OTP. Thanks!

I am writing today to encourage the committee to reconsider the date that has been chosen. I have no particular issue with the concept of moving the primary up, but would like the Legislature to consider the logistical implications of holding a primary three days before most school districts will hold graduation ceremonies. Many municipalities work with school districts to provide polling locations for elections, and having an election during the same week as senior activities will place a burden on both municipalities and school districts. I would prefer to see the Committee consider the fourth Tuesday of June as an alternative date, as this would be well clear of any school activities, and not too far into the summer as to disrupt the majority of residents summer vacation plans.;
