Requires local school boards to vote on accepting or rejecting charitable donations, establishes a virtual early childhood readiness family engagement program, and exempts library card and membership information from right-to-know disclosure.

The non-germane amendment to allow donation of computer-based virtual early literacy preschool programs without an open discussion of what is being taught, how it is being taught, how children and families will be engaged shows that this bill is not ready to legislate. It is being rushed through and deserves further work and a full hearing when the details are ready to be discussed with the public. We do not want to substitute more screen time for quality teaching, especially for our youngest learners.
